Laura Blythe

Laura completed her Bachelor of Music Degree before becoming a Qualified classroom teacher teaching at Oathall Community College for 3 years teaching GCSE Music with 100% pass rate and running a department.

Laura has taught a range of activities that include Samba, Ukulele, recorders, Keyboard/Piano and Music Theory at East Sussex Music for 12 years. Laura also runs the choir, ‘The Keys’ - a mixed ability keyboard group and ‘Wired’ - a Rock & Pop group at Lewes Music Centre.

Laura can teach traditional ABRSM and Trinity piano grades as well as Rock & Pop Keyboard. She has excellent results with Rock and Pop exams and uses a friendly approach to teaching pupils of all ages.

Laura is passionate about teaching music and feels fortunate to work for East Sussex Music

 

David Cane-Hardy

David completed a Certificate in Music at Colchester Institute and a Certificate in Education at Middlesex University. He also completed a Diploma in Music Performance (gaining Distinction ) at Brighton University.

David has devoted a 40 year career to music education as both a Head of Music and as an Advanced Skills Music Teacher. His commitment to helping students develop a passion for music is very well known and has earned him an International Rotary Award and a Runner-Up place in the National Classic FM Music Teacher of the Year Competition.

His work with choirs has earned national recognition coaching choirs for the West End production of Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the London Palladium. David has competed in and won National Competitions at the National Festival of Music for Youth and performing all over the world.

David currently teaches at Eastbourne Music Centre as Choir Conductor and Viola Coach. In his spare time David plays electro-acoustic guitar and enjoys composing and performing

 

Rachel Fryer M.Mus, BA (Hons) PGCE is East Sussex Academy of Music’s Piano Teacher and accompanist. She is in high demand as a performer locally, both as a soloist and accompanist. She is the Musical Director for Music & Wine at St. Luke’s, a concert series in Brighton.

Rachel has given workshops on topics including practice tips, playing without tension and dealing with performance nerves and plays with many education groups including Kidenza and the Orchestra of Sound and Light.

 

Stephanie Holt

Stephanie is an experienced vocal and piano teacher, performer and composer. She has been teaching music, music technology and leading choirs for over 13 years. She is a classically trained vocalist who also has extensive experience in Jazz, Pop, Blues, Rock and Musical Theatre.

Stephanie is an enthusiastic teacher who adapts her lessons to each student by focusing on their own individual needs. Either learning just for fun, wanting to take grades or to enhance performance skills, Stephanie’s lessons aim to bring out the best in her students by building confidence, developing techniques, extending repertoire and exploring the inner musician

 

Peter Ludlam BA(Hons)

Keyboard teacher and Ensemble Leader for East Sussex Music in Eastbourne. He has been teaching keyboard and piano for East Sussex Music for over ten years.

Angela Moulder BA Hons, PGCE

Angela has taught Piano, keyboard and violin for 25 years

 

Veronica Parker PGCE

Veronica trained at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and went on to take her PGCE at Christ Church Canterbury. She has been teaching for some years children, adults and special needs as well as running choirs, playing and singing in Big Bands and arranging music for Big Bands and A Cappella choirs. She also plays in jazz combos of varying sizes and teaches privately. She has devised the colour sticker system for the curriculum books for those that struggle with learning notation and is a Music Medals assessor for the ABRSM.
